Sheriff Donald O’Cain reported that a hit and run occurred on September 8. Investigator Joe Andrews explained that at approximately 7:45 p.m. Robert Pope of D’Lo was struck by a vehicle on Highway 149 in D’Lo. Andrews said the suspected vehicle is a white Chevrolet or GMC four door that was pulling a black car hauler.
Sheriff Donald O’Cain reported that the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department recovered stolen property last week. The property was stolen from Magee United Pentecostal Church located on Highway 28 East. Investigator Chris Wallace explained that the church was burglarized on August 28.
Two Mendenhall Tigers were reunited on an NFL football field last Saturday. Martinas Rankin of the Houston Texans and his former Mendenhall teammate Khadarel Hodge of the Los Angeles Rams were able to reconnect during a preseason game.
The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that came in at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, August 23.
The incident was described by investigator Leon Wedgeworth as a home invasion that occurred at a residence on Van Zandt Road in Braxton.
