Here’s the thing that should be known about me: I’m kind of an introvert. I have no problem talking about things when I’m pulled out of my shell, but my shell is a very nice place to be, and sometimes I don’t want to be taken out of it. I’m far more comfortable when I’m writing; I have control here.
The first concern for the July 3 Simpson County School District Board of Education meeting was brought forward by parent Nina Hollins Morvant, who wanted to discuss a concern about her child. The board decided to table the discussion until the end of the meeting.
Mendenhall Mayor Todd Booth called the meeting of the Board of Aldermen to order at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 5.
Alderwoman Sandra Weeks Stein of Ward 4 prayed over the meeting. An amendment was added to the agenda, and then the meeting commenced.
Fresh out of my first year, I think I know just a little bit about this whole college thing. I could be wrong, of course. I could head back to Ole Miss in the fall and experience a completely different school with a completely different set of rules.
Still, I like to think I’ve got it figured out.
