Billy Gerald Gregory, 81, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on Friday, February 21, 1941, in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church in Magee.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church. The burial followed in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee. Reverend Michael Ahlberg officiated. Special music was provided by Miss Kayla Rogers. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, 601-849-5031.
Mr. Billy was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church. He served his church for over 30 years as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a man that never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time visiting with his friends at Ward’s and Zip’s, but most of all he enjoyed the time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. “Dub” Gregory; mother, Helen Ivy Gregory; and brother, Jerry Gregory.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanette Maddox Gregory of Magee; two sons, Johnny Gregory (Jeanie) of Mendenhall, MS and Wesley Gregory (Lanie) of Ruston, LA; two daughters, Angie Gregory Rogers (David) of Magee, and Stephanie Gregory of Norwalk, CT; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Neil Rogers, Tucker Rogers, Brian Barnard, Danny Hayman, Charles Baldwin, and Matt Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will be The Ward’s Coffee Club.
