Mendenhall Jr. High Fall Festival will be October 17 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Bracelets will be $10 until the end of school on Oct. 17 and then will be $15 at festival. Bracelets will include everything except haunted house, face painting and concessions. Cake walk, photo booth, balloon pop, apple bobbing, hayride and bounce house.

The USDA Service Center, which houses the Simpson County Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Simpson County Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices, located at 3080 Simpson Hwy. 13, Mendenhall, MS, will be CLOSED Monday, October 14, 2019, for Columbus Day. The Service Center will re-open on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.
Artwork created by individuals served by Boswell Regional Center is on display through Oct. 15 on Boswell’s campus. Each piece was designed by those with some degree of intellectual or developmental disability. Individuals are enrolled in classes held on Boswell’s Magee campus and in the surrounding area.
The pieces on display and for sale will include paintings in various mediums. Artwork can be purchased at this event, which is open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m.– 4:15 p.m. Visitors are asked to stop at the security office near the front entrance to obtain directions.

Simpson County branch of the NAACP will be hosting a second town hall meeting on OCtober 19 at 11 am at the Magge Community house to discuss the Simpson county school’s board progress on the community concerns and issues with the Simpson county public school systems, ythat were brought before them at the last town hall meeting. The Mendenhall High school Fall Festival will be held at the school on Thursday, October 31, from 5-8 p.m. They will have a haunted house, bingo, costume contest, Trunk or Treat, Health Fair and food. Puckett Methodist Women to hold Missions Market Place, Saturday November 2, 2019 from 8:00am-2:00pm at the Puckett United Methodist Church located at 6412 Hwy 18 in downtown Puckett MS. Proceeds to go to help children on the Autism Spectrum attend the Center Ridge Outpost summer camp. Funds will also go to our Friends in Need campaign to help those with cancer and other medical expenses. Our day will include vendors with handmade items, rummage sale, raffle items, and a soup lunch café for $5. Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul.
