Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Mission Center "Fall/Winter Sale" Friday and Saturday, October 18 & 19, (8 a.m.-12 noon). They are open the 1st and 3rd Friday and Saturday each month with huge selections of clothing, scrubs, what-nots, toys, linens, books and much more at inexpensive prices. They've got coats, jackets, sweaters, sweats, toboggans, boots and even some cool hunting clothes. Also, weather permitting, they will have a trailer load of new Christmas toys and decorations outside! They receive new items often from CATO, Ballyhoo, Dollar General, TAGS and other boutiques. October 19

Simpson County branch of the NAACP will host a second town hall meeting on Saturday, October 19, at 11 a.m. at the Magee Community House to discuss the Simpson County School Board’s progress on the community’s concerns and issues with the Simpson County public school system, that were brought before them at the last town hall meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.

New Zion M.B. Church, Pinola, Annual Family and Friends Day Weekend October 19 and 20. The Mendenhall High School Fall Festival will be held at the school on Thursday, October 31, from 5-8 p.m.  They will have a haunted house, Bingo, costume contest, Trunk or Treat, Health Fair and food. November 2

Station 7 Fire Department will have a fundraiser at their sub sation on Hwy 540 on Saturday, November 2, from 10-2. We will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and boiled peanuts. We hope everyone comes out to help support your local community fire department.

Puckett Methodist Women to hold Missions Market Place, Saturday November 2, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Puckett United Methodist Church, 6412 Hwy 18 in downtown Puckett, MS. Proceeds go to help children on the Autism Spectrum attend the Center Ridge Outpost summer camp. Funds will also go to our Friends in Need campaign to help those with cancer and other medical expenses. Our day will include vendors with handmade items, rummage sale, raffle items, and a soup lunch café for $5. We will be selling our frozen casseroles to help you get through the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Table space is available for $25. Athens Baptist Church will have Homecoming, Nov. 3. Hunter  May will sing. Sunday worship service will begin at 11 p.m. with lunch afterwards in the fellowship hall. Pastor John Coleman invites everyone to attend.

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.

The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome. The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women meets at the E911 Building in Mendenhall the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m.

American Legion Post 74 meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. at the VFW, Hwy 49, Magee, at 6:30 p.m. Veterans and active duty service personnel welcome.

Lunch and Prayer is held every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at BridgePointe Church, 123 Choctaw Street E., Magee. Hosted by Genesis (a BridgePointe Ministry.)
