August 16-17

Kennedy Springs Baptist Church "Mission Center" Back to school sale Friday and Saturday, August 16 & 17 (8 a.m.-12 noon). Open every 1st and 3rd Friday and Saturday each month with huge selection of clothing, scrubs, what-nots, toys, linens, books and much more at inexpensive prices. Most clothes sell for $.25 except for some new and name brand clothing which will be more expensive. Blue jeans and scrubs will be $1. New items arrive often from CATO, Ballyhoo and Dollar General. They also offer free Bibles, Sunday school books and prayer devotion books. Season tickets for all Trojan home football games are now on sale in the office at Magee High School for $35 per ticket.

August 11-16

The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church invites everyone to attend their annual revival, August 11-16.  Morning service guest preacher will be Minister Trent Warren, Waynesboro. The guest preacher for the afternoon service at 2 p.m. will be Pastor Troy Durr, St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, Mendenhall. Lunch will be served immediately after the afternoon service.  Evangelist for the week will be Pastor Darren Clay, Shady Oak Missionary Baptist Church, Collins. Nightly service Aug. 12-16 begin at 7p.m.

August 12

Magee Public Library will host an event for Tweens. Can a golf ball float? Come and find out! It it floats, can it sink? Stop by and help us answer some questions. 5th grade to 8th grade kids are welcome to come August 12 at 4 p.m.

August 12-14

New Hymn M.B. Church, 458 Hollins Rd., Pinola, will have its annual summer revival on August 12-14. Nightly service will be at 7 p.m. Monday night, Pastor Jessie Taylor, New Lillie Mae M.B. Church, of Georgetown; Tuesday, Pastor Willie Jones of Greater New Zion M. B. Church of Hazlehurst; and Wednesday, Robert West Sr., pastor of Mt. Eva M.B. Church of Terry. August 18

The men of Mary Grove Church will host their Men's Day Program on Aug. 18, at 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Pastor Harold Howard from Sylvarena Church in Brandon. Everyone is welcome to attend. 

Faith Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. will have their Family and Friends Celebration service on Sunday, August 18, at 11 a.m. Speaker will be  Elder  Marcus Powell.  Church is located in Magee across from Joe's Barber School.

August 19

First Baptist Church of Magee will continue the revival series Mondays with the Master at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19. Pastor Danny Lanier and Worship Pastor Paul Davis, both of Northcrest Baptist Church, Meridian, will lead the services.  Everyone is invited. 

The St. Mary Church Family cordially invites you to come and worship with us during our Annual Revival, Monday, August 19 - Wednesday, Aug. 21. Rev. Samuel C. Newton from Pineville Baptist Church, Waynesboro, will be the guest speaker. Service will begin nightly at 7:15 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

August 26

First Baptist Church of Magee invites everyone to the final night of the revival series Mondays with the Master on Monday, Aug. 26, beginning at 7 p.m.  Leading the services will be Brent Benson, pastor, and Eric Benson, worship pastor, of Salem Heights Baptist Church, Laurel.  The Salem Heights Choir and Orchestra will present the music.

September 1

You are invited to worship with the Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church on September 1 at 1:30 p.m. for Pastor Mitchell Chatman’s 10th year Anniversary at the church. Guest speaker will be Pastor Anthony Watts of St. Mary M.B.,  D'Lo.

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.

The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome. Pick up or prepare a lunch item to share and join the group, or just visit.                               Call the library at 601-849-3747 for information.

Magee First UMC livestreams Sunday morning worship services at 10 a.m. weekly via mageefumc.org. Services are also archived for viewing convenience.

The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women meets at the E911 Building in Mendenhall the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m.

American Legion Post 74 meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. at the VFW, Hwy 49, Magee, at 6:30 p.m. Veterans and active duty service personnel welcome.

Lunch and Prayer is held every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at BridgePointe Church, 123 Choctaw Street E., Magee. Hosted by Genesis (a BridgePointe Ministry.)

Preschool story time is held at Mendenhall Public Library on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Bring your preschooler for stories, songs and crafts.The library offers many activities for children of all ages during the week and after school.
