August 25

Mt. Carmel Church invites you to their annual fall revival August 25-30, 7 p.m. nightly. On August 25 the evening service will begin at 1:30 with Pastor Willie B. Hobbs of Nazareth M.B. Church in Mendenhall. Speaker for the week will be Pastor Darren Clay of Shady Oak M.B. Church from Collins. Service begins 7 p.m. nightly.

Siloam Baptist Church invites you to Homecoming August 25. Worship service at 10:30 followed by lunch in the fellowship hall. Speaker will be Rev. Paul Roberts. Music director will be Hilmer Bynum. Special music April Magee, granddaughter of Rev. Paul Roberts.

August 26

First Baptist Church of Magee invites everyone to the final night of the revival series, Mondays with the Master, on Monday, Aug. 26, beginning at 7 p.m.  Leading the services will be Brent Benson, pastor, and Eric Benson, worship pastor, of Salem Heights Baptist Church, Laurel.  The Salem Heights Choir and Orchestra will present the music.

September 1

You are invited to worship with the Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church on September 1 at 1:30 p.m. for Pastor Mitchell Chatman’s 10th year Anniversary at the church. Guest speaker will be Pastor Anthony Watts of St. Mary M.B.,  D'Lo.

The 82nd annual Richard and Lucreasie Payne family reunion will be September 1 at Pleasant Grove CME Church at 1:30 p.m. Located at 577 Highway 541 South. Everyone is invited to attend.

September 2

The Board of Supervisors & Simpson County Solid Waste Office will be closed September 2 in Observance of Labor Day. Regular trash pickup for Monday, September 2, will be collected on Tuesday. Monday and part of Tuesday's route will begin Tuesday morning and run throughout the week until Thursday afternoon. Please have your trash in bags and out by 6 a.m.

September 4

The Co-Lin Workforce EMT training at the Simpson County Center has been extended to September 4. Those who are interested may contact us for registration information and packet.

September 5

The Republican Women of Simpson County will meet Thursday, September 5, at 11 a.m. in the E 911 Building in Mendenhall. Guests are welcome. For info call 601-953-2433.

Nazareth M.B. Church fall revival will be held September 8-13. September 8, Revival 2 p.m., Pastor George Dawson from Rocky Valley M.B. Church; September 9-13, beginning at 7:15 each night, Pastor James Dampier of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

September 14

Night of Worship” at Overflow Church will be Saturday, September 14, beginnig at 6 p.m.

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.

The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome. Pick up or prepare a lunch item to share and join the group, or just visit.                               Call the library at 601-849-3747 for information.

Magee First UMC livestreams Sunday morning worship services at 10 a.m. weekly via Services are also archived for viewing convenience.

The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women meets at the E911 Building in Mendenhall the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m.

American Legion Post 74 meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. at the VFW, Hwy 49, Magee, at 6:30 p.m. Veterans and active duty service personnel welcome.

Lunch and Prayer is held every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at BridgePointe Church, 123 Choctaw Street E., Magee. Hosted by Genesis (a BridgePointe Ministry.)

Preschool story time is held at Mendenhall Public Library on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Bring your preschooler for stories, songs and crafts.The library offers many activities for children of all ages during the week and after school.
