The Board of Supervisors and Simpson County Solid Waste Office will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 in Observance of Labor Day. Regular trash pickup for Monday, Sept. 2, will be collected on Tuesday. Monday and part of Tuesday's route will begin Tuesday morning and run throughout the week until Thursday afternoon. Please have your trash in bags and out by 6 a.m.
The USDA Service Center, which houses the Simpson County Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Simpson County Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices, located at 3080 Simpson Hwy. 13, Mendenhall, MS, will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day. The Service Center will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 8 a.m.

Good Hope Baptist Church invites members of the community to a Back to School Rally at the church on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. The church is located at 647 Hwy. 541 south in Magee. The program will consist of short presentations by representatives of the school district and any of the administrative team or school board members who wish to speak. The purpose is to foster communication between parents and district personnel.

Mothers, grandmothers, teens and younger girls, church groups, cheerleaders, bunco groups and choir groups can learn how women of any age and size can be prepared for the unexpected.
