September 22

The Crazy Day Beauty Pageant will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m.  Entry forms are available on the Magee Chamber of Commerce website, mageechamberofcommerce.com, or can be picked up at the Chamber office.

 

The annual William Mangum reunion will be held Saturday, September 22, at 1150 Luckett Lane, Raymond, MS.  It will begin at 11 a.m. and we will eat at 12 noon so bring your favorite dish.  If you need directions, contact Steve Mangum at 334-216-1237.  Paper goods and drinks will be supplied.

 

2018 Annual Thomas Sullivan Family Reunion (Sullivan's Hollow, MS) Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. at  New Sardis Baptist Church 93 SCR 40 Smith County. Please bring a covered dish. Lunch will be served at noon. Signs will be posted along Highway 35 between Mize and Mount Olive.  Family fun, exchanging family photos, history, and meeting new family members. Simpson County Jr. Livestock Fall Show 2018 Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. The show will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Simpson County Jr. Livestock Barn on Hwy 49 Mendenhall, MS. Please come support local 4-H /FFA Livestock exhibitors.

G Grove Baptist Church, 112 Springhill Dr., Mendenhall, will have their annual revival Sept. 23-26. Theme will be Revive Us Again. Will you not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 85:6. Afternoon speaker, Pastor Donald Page, Mt. Zion Baptist Church Foxworth. Service will start at 1:30. The Greater Day Ridge MB Church pastor’s anniversary will be held Sunday, Sept. 23,  at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeffery Floyd doing the celebrate service for Pastor G. T. Floyd and First lady Everjean Floyd.

 

September 29

The descendants of William & Martha Jones will have annual reunion on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Coats Baptist Church. Bring covered dish & drinks. Plates, forks & cups provided. Come & enjoy.

 

September 30

The D’Lo Reunion will be held on Sept. 30 at the D’Lo Community Cener in D’Lo.  Doors will open at 10 a.m. with coffee and donuts.  Lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m.  Bring all your memorabilia and photos of D’Lo’s past along with your favorite covered dish.

 

October 4

The Republican Women of Simpson County will meet Thursday Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. in the E 911 Bldg. on Hwy 149 in  Mendenhall. Judge Jeff Weill, candidate for Miss. Court of Appeals, will be the guest speaker. For info call 601 953 2433

Magee First Baptist Church will have their annual Friends and Family Day on Sunday, Oc. 6 beginning at 10 a.m. Theme: “When all else fails, God will not.” The guest speaker will be Minister Mancel Hobbs of Nazareth M.B. Church in Mendenhall. All are invited to come. The church is located at 618 11th Ave. NW Magee.

 

The annual reunion of decendants of Joseph Buchanan Walker and Berilla Brown Walker reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Corinth Baptist Church, 207 Church Rd, Magee, MS 39111, Highway 28 west of Magee. Fellowship will begin at 11:30 with lunch at 12:30 p.m.

 

October 7

Zion HiIl Family and Friends Day will be Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at 374 Zion Hill Rd. Mendenhall. Pastor John Teris Tate will be the speaker. All are invited.

The 4th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk will be held on Main St. in Mendenhall on Oct. 13, sponsored by Rho Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Registration for Smith/Simpson counties will be at the Magee Civic Center on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Do not bring children with you!

Rock Pigah Church invites you to join us as we celebrate our annual Family and Friends weekend. Gospel Singing Explosion Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. Family and Friends Day will be Sunday, Oct. 21,  with regular service.

FCCLA Club will host a Fall Festival  at Mendenhall High School Thursday, Oct. 25, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. They are pre-selling chicken  plates for $10 and tickets can be purchased at the Mendenhall High School office.  “Celebrate Recovery” meets every Thursday night at Overflow Church at 6 p.m., 222 Railroad Dr. SE Magee, MS 39111.

 

A Bible study on the book of Revelation is being offered every Sunday night at 6 p.m. led by Pastor Bro. Donald Green at Fellowship Baptist Church, Hwy. 13 South, Mendenhall.

 

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.

 

The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome. The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women meets at the E911 Building in Mendenhall the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m.

 

American Legion Post 74 meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. at the VFW, Hwy 49, Magee, at 6:30 p.m. Veterans and active duty service personnel welcome.

 

Lunch and Prayer is held every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at BridgePointe Church, 123 Choctaw Street E., Magee. Hosted by Genesis (a BridgePointe Ministry.)
