The Harrisville Christmas Parade will emphasize local family history this year.
The parade will be held on Saturday, December 5, at 10 a.m.
This year’s parade is dedicated to honoring the heritage of the families of the Harrisville community.
Organizer Rita Way said, “We welcome all floats and entries as always, but we do extend a special invitation to each family who is currently connected or has had a long-time connection to the Harrisville community to represent your family heritage in the parade.
She asked that groups entering a family heritage float or other unit display the family name and/or business affiliation with the number of years or generations that family has been connected to the Harrisville area.
“Whether you are a first or a fifth generation resident, we welcome your participation,” she said, adding, “Floats are encouraged but all entries are welcome.”
