Deputies Investigate Possible Arson


At approximately 10:00 a.m., the Magee Fire Department was called to 217 Scott Harrington Road Mount Olive MS in response to a fire. The page described a possible arson situation involving a male setting fire around a home. Firefighters arrived on the scene accompanied by Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputies. The firefighters worked efficiently to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported, and there was no one at the location when emergency officials arrived. Afterwards the scene was turned over to the Simpson county Sheriff's office for further investigation.

Magee Fire Chief Lane Steele advised that the State Fire Marshal was in route to assist with the investigation.  No suspects have been identified at this time. This story will be updated as new information becomes available.
