Late Wednesday morning at approximately11:40 a.m. Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and what was believed to be blood in the parking area of a cemetery near St. John Road in Braxton.
After deputies secured the area, investigators were called and began processing the scene. Investigators determined that 25-year-old Carlton Deaudrea Gray was supposed to have possession of the vehicle at the time. Attempts were made by the Sheriff’s Department to locate Gray.
Investigators enlisted the assistance of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department by utilizing their drone to search the nearby area. Gray’s body was discovered in a densely wooded area off St. John Road. The investigation is still ongoing.
