Pedestrian Killed By Train


Update: The victim  was identified as David Floyd Lee of Mendenhall

At approximately 10:15 a.m. Mendenhall Police Department responded to a call involving a pedestrian being struck by a train. Police Chief Candy McCullum described the individual as a 6 foot tall white male between the ages of 30-40. The man was injured when officers arrived on the scene and was transported to the hospital where he later died. The man had no identification on him at the time of the incident. The body has been turned over to the Simpson County Coroner to assist with identification and notification of next of kin. The incident is currently under investigation by railroad officials and the Mendenhall Police Department.  This story will be updated as more information is made available.
