Recent reports of students’ meals being thrown out by Simpson County School District food service workers were accurate. 

The Simpson County Board of Supervisors have adopted their annual budget for the upcoming year. 

The millage will remain at the same rate as last year,103.5 mills to support the county budget. 

The town of Braxton lost a revered member of their community when Mayor Mable Everett passed away on September 16.

Ole Miss will honor its 2018 inductees into the M-Club Hall of Fame this fall, Sept. 21, with six Rebels across five sports being enshrined.  One of those is a local man.

Simpson Academy celebrated Homecoming on Friday, September 14, with a victory against Natchez Cathedral. Morgan Griffith was crowned 2018 Homecoming queen. She was escorted by Marvin Griffith.

 

 

 

 

 

Representatives from the City of Magee met with the Simpson County School Board recently to discuss a 14.5 acre tract of land owned by the Simpson County School District which the city wanted to use as a park for residents.

The Mendenhall Tigers achieved a milestone last Friday in a hard fought game against the Quitman Panthers. The Tigers came into the game after suffering an unexpected loss to the Northeast Jones Tigers. The loss locked the Tigers in a 3 way tie with West Lauderdale and Quitman for first place in the district.




Veteran’s celebration Nov. 10

The city of Magee will host their annual Veteran’s Celebration on Friday, November 10, at First Baptist Church.

Line up for the parade will be at 9:45 a.m. in front of the church.  A ceremony will follow the parade in front of the community center.  This is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
