In the process of creating a new budget for the upcoming year, the Simpson County Board of Supervisors held a budget workshop last Wednesday.   
In preparation for an upcoming meeting on school facilities, the Simpson County School Board met last Friday morning to address goals and other plans for the county’s public schools. 
Funds from the $250,000 grant awarded by the state to the City of Magee should be available by the first of November, according to Mayor Dale Berry. 
Public schools opened for the 2019-2020 school year last week with 3,545 students enrolled, which is a 125 student increase over last year.

13 join first Color Run


Mendenhall High School recently hosted their first annual MHS CTE Color Run.

 Suzan Bourn and Sandra Jager organized the event to benefit several of the student body organizations. Proceeds from the color run were dispersed among Mendenhall High School’s FFA, FCCLA, and DECA.
