The Mission Center is excited to open for sales beginning June 5-6 and 19-20 (8-Noon). The store is full of summer merchandise with most all clothes selling for only $1. They are being very safe and cautious, and everyone will need to wear their own mask and only about 20 will be allowed in the store at a time to shop, so they ask that you use your time wisely. They are located only 9 miles from downtown Magee at 2034 Simpson Hwy. 540. Just follow the pink signs beginning at Polk’s Pharmacy just past the Magee Hospital. 601/847-0702
June 12-13
Estate Sale - June 12-13 (8 a.m.-12 noon) 1647 Athens Road, Mendenhall. Lots of great finds including dishes, pictures, what-nots, linens, tupperwear, etc. There are also 2 storage buildings for sale. This will be handled by Kennedy Springs Baptist Church "Mission Center." Everyone will be asked to wear a mask or covering over their nose and mouth and a limited number will be allowed in the home at one time. Please have patience and observe our guidelines as we are cautious and trying to keep everyone safe.

Simpson County Alcorn Alumni Scholarship Banquet has been postponed until a later date. Keep your tickets.
The Magee Consolidated-McLaurin Vocational Attendance Center Reunion scheduled for July 10, 11 and 12, 2020, has been postponed until hopefully next year.
The annual A. F. May Sr. Family Reunion to be held on Sunday, June 7, at D’Lo Water Park has been postponed and rescheduled for the first Sunday in June, 2021. Save the date!

The 73nd reunion of the Solomon Lee Family would have been held on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Strong River Baptist Church, Pinola, MS. Due to the coronavirus, the reunion will not be held this year.

“Celebrate Recovery” meets every Thursday night at Overflow Church at 6 p.m., 222 Railroad Dr. SE Magee, MS 39111.
Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. Senior citizens, the needy and the homeless, come and bring a friend. Mt. Moriah Church is located at 160 Mt. Moriah Church Road, Magee.
The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. New participants are welcome.

The Simpson County Federation of Democratic Women meets at the E911 Building in Mendenhall the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m.
American Legion Post 74 meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. at the VFW, Hwy 49, Magee, at 6:30 p.m. Veterans and active duty service personnel welcome.

Preschool story time is held at Mendenhall Public Library on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Bring your preschooler for stories, songs and crafts. The library offers many activities for children of all ages during the week and after school.
