Monday evening at approximately 4:19pm, Simpson County E911 received a call from Patrick Hubbard that his son, 18-year-old Patrick Hubbard Jr. had been shot and was discovered lying outside his vehicle on the North side of Old Tower Road. Deputies arrived on scene along with officers from Magee Police Department and began to secure and process the scene. MBI crime scene unit arrived to assist in the processing of the scene. The vehicle was towed to the Mississippi State Crime Lab to be processed.
Deputies learned that Jordan Jamal Brinson was a suspect in a theft of a pistol from a family member earlier that day, and that Brinson may have been with Patrick Hubbard Jr. at the time of the shooting. Brinson has active felony warrants with the Magee Police Department.
A search of the immediate area was conducted by deputies and Rankin County Sheriff’s Department aided with the use of a drone equipped with a FLIR camera to search a large area of Old Tower Road, and later moved the search to Zionelle Road . As of this morning Brinson has not been located. All neighboring agencies have been alerted and the U.S. Marshal’s Office are currently searching for Jordan Brinson.
