City of Magee Sports Plex at 6 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2020
Magee High School will host Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2020 on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM as a drive through celebration at the Sports Plex. Seniors will arrive at 5:00 PM at the HUDSON’s parking lot to line up for the processional of cars – seniors are limited to one vehicle per student – no trailers, campers, or large trucks will be permitted in the lineup. Seniors should be riding in the front passenger side of each vehicle. The processional of vehicles will begin approximately 5:45 PM so the procession can enter into the Sports Plex and be lined up for the ceremony to begin at 6 PM.
Renew96.9 will broadcast the entire ceremony so all vehicles and the Magee community can hear speeches, prayers, and the names of students as they are awarded their diploma. Mageenews.com plans to livestream the event so people can watch at home and they will post a recorded version on their website so people can watch again and again.
At the conclusion of the ceremony Magee Police will lead the recessional out of the Sports Plex and continue through the campus of Magee High School before vehicles disperse at Main Street.
We recognize that these commencement exercises are not the traditional ceremony but this event will always be remembered as the unique way we honored the graduating Class of 2020.
