The City of Mendenhall will spend over $1 million on paving this summer which will fix approximately 20 streets around the city. Paving is scheduled to begin in July. The city anticipates being able to spend approximately $400,000 each year on paving beginning in 2024.

During June’s regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, the board approved a paving project that will spend over $1 million fixing streets in Mendenhall.

The Mendenhall Mayor and Board of Aldermen unanimously adopted an ordinance supporting the Mendenhall Cemeteries Association. The ordinance states that a Cemeteries Association member must be notified at least 24 hours before a burial takes place within Mendenhall Cemeteries.

City water line project nears launch

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Braxton is the home of several veterans who attended the recent Memorial Day service held there on May 30.
