Update: The SCSO has released the names of two victims involved in the shooting. The 19 year old male has been identified as Datavion Fairley. The victim who sustained non-life threatening injuries has been identified as Jarvis Lofton.

Outdoor recreation opens

Last Friday Governor Tate Reeves extended the Safer at Home Order until June 1. Reeves said, “My hope and my expectation is by June 1 we will be able to allow that to expire. However, there will still be guidelines in place for businesses, but we will be out of the business of closing down anybody, I hope.”

State allows more businesses to open

Governor Tate Reeves announced Friday that the Safer at Home order set to expire Monday, May 11, has been extended for two weeks, and is scheduled to end on May 25.
Reeves also announced that barbershops, salons, and gyms were allowed to open on Monday, May 11, if they adhere to strict health guidelines.

Governor cautiously reopens some facilities

On Monday, May 4, Governor Tate Reeves announced additional steps taken to further reopen the state, including opening more outdoor spaces, allowing outdoor gatherings of up to 20 people and allowing restaurants to resume dine-in services.
The new guidelines will go into effect at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 7.
