Michael Overby, 58, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, September 26, 1964, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi, and on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 10 a.m. until service time at Coat Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Coat Baptist Church. The burial followed at Coat Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Brother Donnie Guy and Brother Orlando Rankin officiated. Special music was performed by Mr. Wesley Stringer and Mrs. Tiffany Blair. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, 601-849-5031.
Michael was a member of Coat Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time in the outdoors, and his church family, but most of all spending time with his loving wife. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Jeanette Keen Overby.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Beth Cole Overby of Magee, MS; two brothers, Elmer Overby and Virgil Overby (Teresa); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Kevin Freeman, James Freeman, Dalton Freeman, Jacob Overby, Matthew Sistrunk, and Paul Overby. Go rest high, Michael!
