Consolidated high school proposal to be presented

On a three to two vote, the Simpson County School Board has moved forward with a plan to offer a consolidated county high school.
The facility that would combine Magee and Mendenhall high schools would be located in Magee in the former Pioneer facility at the intersection of Highways 49 and 28 west.

Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann said he is looking to the 2021 Legislative session as one with a positive agenda. On his agenda are another teacher pay raise, work on the education budget, dual accreditation, eliminating year-round school barriers, scope of practice issues, and addressing shipment of alcohol in the state.

Magee’s Homecoming set for Friday night

Magee High School will celebrate its Homecoming on Friday, October 9, on Trojan Field at half-time during the Magee-West Marion game.
Homecoming festivities will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the presentation of the Homecoming Court and the crowning of the Queen. The football game begins at 7 p.m.
