At a recent meeting of the Simpson County School Board, members voted to officially rescind a motion passed by the previous board to build a consolidated high school. The decision passed by a majority vote, with board member Thomas Ray Floyd making the motion and Stacey Herrin seconding it.

Family’s memorial

Overflow Church, with the help of Mississippi Blood Services, hosted a blood drive Sunday February 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The drive was in honor of Rosalind Anderson Bernoudy, who passed away in 2018 after a long battle with sickle cell.

Lee dies suddenly

School consolidation dialogue has gotten really bad

We have carefully watched and read most of the dialogue we’ve heard in regard to the school consolidation and the bond issue to support it.
It is beyond belief that people who don’t have a clue are making some of the statements they are. It is almost like a conspiracy theory is evolving.
