We had no idea when all of this started that a couple of weeks into the coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic our governor would order us to shelter in place. The order went into effect last Friday afternoon at 5 p.m., and we come out from under it on Monday, April 20, at 8 a.m.

It was beautiful weather both Saturday and Sunday for the Magee kickoff weekend celebrating the Simpson County Bicentennial. Based on the sheer numbers in attendance and the smiles on folks’ faces, it was a great success!

Cheryl Lisalynn Sullivan of 4097 Highway 24 McComb MS, was arrested on April 23 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

School bus shot at

On Wednesday, February 14, at approximately 3:24 p.m., the Magee Police Department received a report that juveniles had shot BB guns at a school bus occupied by students on McLaurin Drive near 5th Ave NE in the Goodwater Community.

The 2018 Okatoma Wagon Trail made their way to the Dixie National Rodeo last week. Approximately 25 wagons and 125 riders participated in the seven day trip. The Okatoma Wagon Trail also joined in the Dixie National Parade down Capital Street in Jackson.

Youth present live Navity

Fellowship Baptist Church presented a live Nativity Scene to remind everyone of the reason for the season. Wendy Womack and Judy Ballard began working on the project in October. Womack explained that the idea to create the nativity scene was started last Christmas. The props were created by members of the church.
