The Nation's Weather for Saturday, January 14, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
More heavy rain and mountain snow will slam into California
tomorrow. The combination of wind and rain will result in a
significant risk of power outages and additional flooding.
Some of the rain may be enhanced by embedded thunderstorms
along the coast of Central California and eastward into the
Sacramento Valley. Heavy rain will arrive farther south in
the afternoon, potentially causing flooding on streets and
poor drainage areas in and around Los Angeles. A few morning
flurries will occur downwind of lakes Erie and Ontario, as
well as in the Appalachians as far south as North Carolina.
A gathering storm offshore may be just close enough to the
coast to allow for a couple of showers for the Outer Banks
of North Carolina. The Plains and Midwest can expect a dry
day.
