NATIONAL SUMMARY
Severe storms are expected to erupt from the central Plains
through the Ohio Valley today. These storms could bring
threats of flooding downpours, hail, damaging winds and even
an isolated tornado. Another storm will continue to impact
the Pacific Northwest, bringing more rounds of rain and
showers to the area, extending farther inland to
intermountain areas. Thunderstorms will also dot areas
across portions of the Southeast with heightened humidity.
The heat wave across Texas and the Southwest will spread
into the central Plains today, with high temperatures
surging into the triple digits. The ongoing heat will
continue to worsen drought conditions in the affected areas.
