Toys for Tots is a national program sponsored by the US Marine Corps. The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys. The collection usually begins during December and lasts through the month. These toys are then distributed as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in communities who conduct a campaign. The objective of Toys for Tots, in addition to helping the less fortunate experience the joy of Christmas is to play an active role in the development of the nation’s most valuable resources, and to unite all members of local communities in a common cause.
Local businesses are partnering in this effort by serving as a drop off for donation of toys, to make this year’s event a success. Drop off locations in Mendenhall include: City Hall, Police Department, Rho Iota Zeta HOPE CENTER, Fire Department, Light House Ministries, Fred’s, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Family Dollar, Simpson County School District Office, Peoples Bank, Priority Bank, Mendenhall Jr High, U Nailed IT Salon, Cow World Salon, and Greater Love Fellowship Church, D’Lo.
