Olen Wilborn, Sr., age 84, of Milton, FL passed away Monday, November 20, 2017.
Born in Collins, Olen joined the U.S. Navy after graduation from high school. He served his country during the Korean War aboard the destroyer, USS Ozbourn. Olen was a master plumber by trade and the sole owner of Countywide Plumbing in Magee.
Olen was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Wilborn, Addie Spangler Wilborn, uncle and aunt Charlie and Sarah Spangler (AKA "Big Daddy" and "Big Mama) who raised him.
Olen is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gwendolyn Hobbs Wilborn of Milton, FL, two daughters, Yolanda Dennis of Anchorage, AK, and Rebecca Walker of Magee, MS and a son, Olen Wilborn, Jr(Linda) also of Magee; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Olen Wilborn were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Milton, FL with the Rev. Tod Brainerd officiating. Burial will be in Serenity Gardens, with military honors and with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family would like to thank the staff of West Florida hospital for the attentive care given to Olen during his brief time of illness.
