Increasingly since the last election Democrats have escalated violent threats against Republican members and their property. Texas congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has said that on her upcoming birthday nothing could be better than Elon Musk being "taken down."
That statement implies that Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should be eliminated. Some deranged individuals could well interpret this as an invitation to assassinate Musk. Further Crockett said this about fellow Texan congressman Ted Cruz: "this dude has to be knocked over the head, like hard." Crockett is not alone in these egregious statements.
Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker who, with his family, made much of his vast wealth in the Hyatt hotel and resort chain and supports gender affirming surgery and other liberal actions said this about Trump and Musk: "they are idiots...they are acting in Washington like Nazi Germany and the Holocaust...Democratic leaders must punch Trump in the face every single day."
Whatever has happened to our political discourse? The Democratic party is at an all-time low in popularity. This sort of rhetoric is partly responsible. Now several individuals are attacking Tesla cars and franchises because of associations with Elon Musk. Only a few months ago Tesla cars were the poster children of the 'Greens.' Electric cars were touted as the partial answer to reducing carbon emissions.
Today dealers' showrooms are being torched, and their cars are being set afire. Charging stations are being destroyed so that not only Tesla cars are affected but other electric cars such as those of Cadillac are also denied power sources. President Trump and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi have rightfully stated that these crimes are domestic terrorism. Severe penalties will be handed down to culprits when convicted.
There is a deafening silence from most Democrats regarding opposition to these crimes. One can only conclude that their silence is equivalent to condoning the crimes--the end justifies the means!
The Tesla attacks are the way opponents are pushing back against Elon Musk. He is finding many sources of government waste and saving the country countless billions of dollars. What I would like to know is this: who has been benefiting from the waste? When social security checks have been written to 150-year-old citizens who has cashed them? When billions of dollars have been spent on worthless projects overseas who has benefited? My suspicion is that Musk is evaporating the gravy train for many politicians, and thus they are stoking his persecution.
