As the new school year approaches, the Simpson County School District is reminding parents and guardians to complete their children’s Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Applications to ensure access to affordable and nutritious meals.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the district will continue operating under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). These federally funded programs help families save money while providing students with the meals they need to succeed in school.
Applications Available Online Starting July 1
Applications for free or reduced-price meals will be available online starting July 1, 2025. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to fill out the application as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions in meal service when school begins.
Students without an approved application on file will be required to pay full price for meals, receive an alternative meal, or bring lunch from home. Submitting the application can help families stretch their budgets and ensures students have access to consistent, balanced meals each day.
How to Apply
To apply for the meal program, visit the Simpson County School District website at www.simpson.k12.ms.us or go directly to www.myschoolapps.com. The process is quick, confidential, and critical for maintaining access to free or reduced meals.
Meal Times and School Start Date
The first day of school is Monday, August 4, 2025.
Parents should check with their child’s individual school website for exact serving times.
For additional information or assistance with the application, contact the Department of Child Nutrition at 601-847-8000.
By completing the meal application, families can ensure their students have one less thing to worry about as they head back to class.
