Business In Review
We Care at Home Care, owned and operated by Samantha Waldrop, offers something Waldrop discovered was needed after working for a time as a certified nursing assistant in healthcare facilities.
People began intermittently asking her to sit with family members and loved ones. Word quickly spread of what Waldrop had to offer, and she opened her business in June 2023. In January 2024 she moved operations to an office building in Mendenhall offering a large variety of helps beyond sitting.
With her current 20 employees,Waldrop’s services include daily living helps such as meal preparation, bathing/ showering, laundry, light housekeeping, transportation, and other types of assistance. In addition when necessary and possible, they work together with home health and hospice.
Geographical service areas currently include Simpson, Forrest and Rankin counties. Waldrop attends to the needs of 12 clients at this point. “I like it being small because we get to be more personal, more one-on- one. I want my caregivers being very personal with our clients.”
In March We Care will begin offering a daily activity a month on Wednesdays for community residents to attend, primarily senior citizens, for a time to socialize and fellowship. A St. Patrick’s Day themed event is scheduled for March 13 at 1 p.m.
Waldrop sums up the desire of We Care with their mission statement that reads, “Our mission at We Care at Home Care is making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. In doing so, we provide our clients with the utmost respect and compassion. We want all our clients to feel like they are our family. We pride ourselves on our faith background and build on that foundation. We Care at Home Care work closely with the families and loved ones to provide exactly what each client needs to live happily and safely in the comforts of their home or facility while also offering them peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are in good hands.”
