Co-Lin to honor Pace, Fuller

John W. Pace of Hattiesburg and Barbara Dale Welch Fuller of Mendenhall will be honored as Alumni of the Year at Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 27, during the Alumni Association’s awards luncheon and annual meeting at 11 a.m. in the cafeteria on the college’s Wesson Campus.

Cougars squeak by Leake 18-14

The Rebels from Leake received the opening kickoff and drove the ball 62 yards for a touchdown capped off by a 4 yard pass from Will-Lawson Harkins to Sam Wilder, Cameron Brown’s PAT was god and with 7:27 left in the first quarter Leake led 7-0. Simpson answered back quickly when Corbin Hosey scored on a 68 yard run.

Fire Drill Wednesday Evening

School board delays election

After years of complying with restrictive hiring practices, the Simpson County School Board has issued payment to the law firm of Adams and Reese in conjunction with settlement of the court ordered consent decree from which the county has finally been released.

Area blood drives

Mississippi Blood Services will be holding a blood drive with Boswell Regional Center on Tuesday, February 13. The MBS Donor Coach will be on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. All donors will receive a T-shirt, while supplies last.  The blood drive is being held in honor of 11-year-old Parker Pierce of Magee, who is battling leukemia.





Stewart, Brinson wed May 12

Rebekah Stewart and Ray Brinson are pleased to announce their upcoming marriage on May 12, 2018, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Magee.

A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
