May 17

Simpson County Ag Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, May 17, at the Simpson County Tech Center from 4-7 p.m.  Included are information on farm safety and a petting zoo.  Ribeye steak sandwiches with chips, drink and dessert will be sold.  The event is sponsored by SCTC FFA/MSU Extension Office.

Missing Person Found

Interim Sheriff Greg Reynolds reported on Tuesday April 23 2019, an area search was conducted for Elizabeth Barker. The search was extensive and included several local and state agencies. The search concluded at approximately 8:30 p.m. Barker was found on April 24 at approximately 8:00 a.m. at or near the family home.

Pastor Rev. Dr. Eric Dixson, Sr., and the membership of Oak Ridge M. B. Church invites everyone to their annual revival. This will begin on Sunday, August 12, at 1:15 p.m. Our nightly services will begin at 7:15 p.m. on August 13-17.  The theme is "The Great Deliverance" (Luke 1:74 - 75).

 








Arrest Reports 8-9-2018

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office reported 39 arrests from July 31 to August 6.

James Randall Bonner of 455 Antioch Road Magee MS was arrested on July 31 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Johnathan Ayers of 112 Old Jupiter Road D’Lo MS was arrested on August 3 and charged with shooting at a vehicle,



Arrest Reports 6-7-2018

Things have been a bit quiet in Magee since last week.  The Magee Police Department reports the following arrests:   Bryan Thurman of 166 Hayes Gray Road Mendenhall was arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant.

School board delays election

After years of complying with restrictive hiring practices, the Simpson County School Board has issued payment to the law firm of Adams and Reese in conjunction with settlement of the court ordered consent decree from which the county has finally been released.
