Simpson General Hospital has announced that the facility has received and begun administering the first phase of the Moderna Covid-19 Vaccine to their frontline healthcare workers
On December 22, 2020, Chief of Staff Dr. Chip Holbrook was one of the first to receive the Moderna vaccine. Dr. Mark Rester and Harrisville Clinic nurse practitioner Jason Bowen also received the vaccine.
Dr. Holbrook stressed the importance of receiving this vaccine, especially for frontline staff who are at risk of being exposed to the virus daily. Several SGH healthcare workers have made appointments to receive the first supply of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.
Dr. Holbrook stated that this is a beginning to the end of this pandemic. He said, “We still have a long way to go, but there is now a hope for our future.”
