Head ‘Em Up, Move ‘Em Out!

Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins joined Perry Sorey and the Dixie National Wagon Train as they traveled through Mendenhall and made camp at D’Lo Water Park last week. School board looks at facility options

The board of the Simpson County School District called two special meetings prior to their regular board meeting on Jan. 9, each  with a specific purpose. One was to discuss the district’s use of ballfields for high school play in Magee.  The second meeting was to discuss the facilities use plan that had been produced by Bailey Consulting.






Missing Person Found

Interim Sheriff Greg Reynolds reported on Tuesday April 23 2019, an area search was conducted for Elizabeth Barker. The search was extensive and included several local and state agencies. The search concluded at approximately 8:30 p.m. Barker was found on April 24 at approximately 8:00 a.m. at or near the family home.

The Simpson County Cardinals are a select baseball team coached by Simpson County natives Brian Mills, Kalen Jackson and Xavier Hayes. The organization consists of a 9 year old and 11 year old team. The teams came together last August and quickly formed strong bonds that saw them finish the season in second place.


Chamber plans banquet

The 59th Mendenhall Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be hosted at the Mendenhall Armory on March 22.

The banquet will include a silent auction that begins at 6:30 p.m. followed at 7 p.m. by the program and dinner, which will be catered by Smokey Mountain Grill.
