Simpson Students visit Capital

– On Tuesday morning, the fourth grade class of Simpson County Academy took a field trip to the Mississippi State Capitol get an up close look of the legislative process in action.  The group met with the Simpson County delegation, Representative Price Wallace and Senator Chris Caughman, while on their tour.

Update on Boomer

Shane Givens notified the newspaper last week that he was not ready to give up on finding who shot and killed his family pet, Boomer.  There have been no leads in the case so the original $1,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the  person who was responsible for shooting his dog has been raised to $4,000.

Caulder Reed, Magee High Class of 2018 graduate and former President of the Student Body, has been recognized as one of the TOP TEN freshmen at LSU from a class of 6,000+. Jerry W. White

Jerry W. White passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital. He was born on December 25, 1944, to the late Warren Solomon and Maxie Lucille (Graves) White.

Sharon Grantham, departed this life September 25. Services are October 5, 2 p.m. at Shiloh M.B. Church D’Lo. Viewing is Friday, October 4, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home of Magee. Final resting home is Shiloh Church cemetery. Services and arrangements entrusted to Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home of Magee.

Betty Waller, 80, of Waynesboro, MS, passed away Sunday,  July 1.

 She was born September 16, 1937.
