Lillie Mae Gibson Lewis passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Magee General Hospital at the age of 93.  She was born on January 12, 1927, to her late parents, Dewey Mahaffey and Ollie Mae (McCory) Mahaffey in Scott County, MS.

The 2020 session at your state capital is off and running as we now enter week four.  The first few weeks were mostly used for inauguration, swearing in ceremonies, and organization as many changes were taking place all throughout the capital building.  There are many new faces throughout the capital as we now have a new Lieutenant Governor in

Norman Edgar Hicks Jr, (Snooks)84, of Magee, passed from this life Monday at home in Magee. He was born Friday, February 1, 1935.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee.

Jimmy Clyde Ramage, 83, of Mendenhall passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at his home in Mendenhall. He was born Thursday, November 26, 1936.

Arrest Reports 7-21-2017

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office reported 23 arrests from September 11 to September 18.
Jason Jordan of 616 Hillen Bale Hattiesburg MS was arrested on September 16 and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
