Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins joined Perry Sorey and the Dixie National Wagon Train as they traveled through Mendenhall and made camp at D’Lo Water Park last week. Arrest Reports 1-23-2020

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office reported 17 arrests from January 13 to January 20.

Shawn Anthony Puckett of 196 Sawmill Road Braxton MS was arrested on January 14 and charged with possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and introducing contraband.

MISSING

On April 22, 2019, Mr. James “Tony” Barker reported that his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Barker was missing.  Mr. Barker says that he last saw his wife around 10:30 this morning at the family home on East Street just outside the city limits of Mendenhall.  She was wearing a purple LSU jacket and blue jeans and carrying her purse. Paul McWilliams

Paul McWilliams, age 70, of D’Lo passed away on January 2, 2018.

Paul was born in Magee to John McWilliams and Annie Byrd. Mr. McWilliams was a Mason for many years at the Mendenhall Masonic Lodge 497.





Jessica Lynn Mason

Jessica Lynn Mason, 78, died Friday at Hillcrest Nursing Center in Magee, Mississippi. She was born in Beacon, TN on Wednesday, April 26, 1939.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh.
