Joe Elias Nations, 87, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at home in Mize. He was born Tuesday, October 10, 1933.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 20, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee in Magee.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 20, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Burial followed in Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Chris Garcia will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements (601) 849-5031.

Joe was a member of Magee Congregational Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a passion for being a mechanic. Joe loved his family and never met a stranger.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Lillie Nations; daughter, JoAnn Thompson. step-son, Kenny Barr; granddaughter, Kaci McMillen; great-grandson, Kenneth Parnell; late wives, Aubrey Nell Nations and Holly Mount; and six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Ruth Rankin Nations; daughter, Cherie Hart; step-daughters, Jeanette Kennedy, Sandra Kennedy (Ricky), Debra Warren (George); son, Joe David Nations; step-daughter, Kim McMillen; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mevline Johnston.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
