Funeral services for Mrs. Loyce Jones Cooper, 86, Magee, were held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 2 p.m. from Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Collins, MS. Interment was in the church cemetery. Reverend Joseph Cooper officiated the services. Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Olive, MS, was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Cooper passed away at her residence on October 3, 2019.
Active pallbearers were Timothy Cooper, Mark Patterson, Jordan Lee, Demetrius Jones, Antuain Morris, Ernest Hobbs, Jr., Juwan McNair, Andrew Williams, Adam Cooper, and Jermaine Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers were J. W. Cooper, Devan Cooper, and Lee Cooper, Jr.
Flower bearers were Mrs. Cooper’s granddaughters.
Mrs. Cooper devoted her life to Christ at an early age at Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and continued her fellowship and devotion at several churches throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Bertha Jones; her husband, Lee Cooper, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Dessie McBeth, Mattie Aultman, Virginia Seal, Lorraine Barnes, Louise Jones, Tom Jones, Ander Jones, Lewis Jones and Monzell Jones.
Survivors include her children, J. W. (Joann) Cooper, Devan Cooper, Fannie (John) McNair, all of Magee, Lee (Annie), Mendenhall, and Mary-Cooper Hobbs, Murphy, TX; sister, Alice Smith-Coleman, Hot Coffee, MS; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
