Mildred Lillian White

Mildred Lillian White died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Manhatten Nursing Home in Jackson at the age of 92.

She was born January 31, 1928, to Malcolm and Mildred Sutton Hubbard of Utica, MS. She graduated from Utica High School and Hinds Jr. College. She served as secretary at Shelby, Pinola and Utica high schools. She also served in various civic organizations and was a member of the Utica Baptist Church.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Sam White, who died in 2008; her parents; her son, Jeff White; and a sister, Louise Hammond.

She is survived by her daughter, Mildred (Cliff) Reed; her son, Sammy White; her sister, Catherine "Laney" Newman; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m., January 26, 2021, in the Utica Cemetery with Revs. Rocky Henriques, Ed Newman and Patrick Sheldon officiating.

Pallbearers were Chad White, Chris White, Andrew White, Dale McLemore, Luke McLemore and Darvin Sibley.

Glenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
