Sarah Joyce King

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Joyce Hubbard King, 69, Magee, were held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11 a.m, from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Olive.  Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery, Magee.  Pastor Columbus O'Banner was the officiant.  Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Olive, was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. King passed away May 4, 2019.

Active pallbearers were  Melvin Price, Carlos Barnes, David Hubbard, Benny Tatum, Monroe Strickland, Earl Craft.

Honorary pallbearers were  Vernon Hubbard, Tommie Lee Hubbard, Charles Alan Hubbard, Jerry King, Jr., Tyrone King, and Deondra King.

Flower bearers were family and friends.

She had an unwavering faith in God and was the heart of the King family.  She was a dedicated member and worker at Mt. Moriah Church, Magee.  She was truly a servant working in all areas of the church and the community.  She had a very special love for her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, PJ and Mae Hubbard; husband, Jerry King, Sr.; six sisters, Earnestine Tatum, Onie Tatum, Ola Strickland, Vertie Craft, Ruby Tatum, and Bobbie Berry; three brothers, JP Hubbard, CN Hubbard, and James Earl Hubbard. 

Survivors include her children, Melissa King-Taylor, Jerry ( Renea) King, Jr., Jennifer ( Mack) Jaynes, all of Magee; Tyrone ( Shannon) King, Wildomar, CA, Deondra ( Olivette) King, Ocean Springs, MS;  one sister, Mildred Price, Magee; three brothers, Vernon Hubbard, Crystal Springs, MS, Tommie Hubbard and Charles (Mary) Hubbard; three sister-in-laws, Wilean King, Magee, Charlene King, Mendenhall,  and Rosie Hubbard, Magee; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
