Argie Jane Stapleton

Argie Jane Stapleton (3/4/1924~12/14/2019).  Affectionately called “Maw Maw,” she loved her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was a cherished member of Rock Pisgah M. B. Church.

Argie was preceded in death by her husband, three children, one grandson,  seven sisters and four brothers.



Judy Gay Warren

Judy Gay Warren, 76, of Mendenhall, went to be with her Lord on Christmas morning. She was born Thursday, November 18, 1943.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 27, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall and 1:30 till service time at Main Street Baptist Church in Mendenhall.




Lena Mae Dixon

Mother Lena Mae Dixon.  (2/27/1951-12/14/2019). She was educated at Harper Vocational High School.  She worked as a private caregiver for many years.  She accepted Christ at an early age, joining Mt.


Mary J. Robertson

Mary J Robertson, 85, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019. She was born Friday, July 27, 1934.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee.




Alfred Ponder

Alfred Ponder, 85, of Mendenhall, MS passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at his home.  He was born on October 15, 1934, to Ellis G. Ponder and Annie (May) Ponder.



Margaret Ruth Shoemaker Patton

Margaret Ruth Shoemaker Patton, 77, of Martinville, died at Jones County Rest Home, Ellisville, MS, on December 16, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson Shoemaker, Jr. and Emma Lola (Blair) Shoemaker; husband Oris (Red) Patton;  a sister; Sherry Lynn Shoemaker; a grandson, Michael Bush.


Fay (Kay) Brown

Fay (Kay) Brown, 77, of Braxton, passed away  December 17, 2019, at her home in Braxton.

Visitation was held December 19, 2019, at  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Mendenhall.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 20, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Olive.
