The qualifying deadline for the municipal election is set to expire on February 5 at 5:00 p.m. for all municipal offices. Primary elections will be held on April 6 and primary runoff elections will take place on April 27. General election day will be held on June 8. Qualifying packages have been made available for all potential candidates at Mendenhall City Hall and Magee City Hall by the city clerks.
As of February 4 the qualifying candidates for the City of Magee thus far are:
Mayor- Dale Berry
Alderman at Large- Mark Ellington, Eric Adkins, Paul Arnold, and Sue Honea
Alderman Ward 1- Ruth Ellington, David Kennedy, and Mark Grubbs
Alderman Ward 2- Matthew Hickman
Alderman Ward 3- Lane Steele
Alderman Ward 4- Patrick Brown
As of February 4 qualifying candidates for the City of Mendenhall thus far are:
Mayor- Todd Booth and Bennie Palmer
Alderman at Large- Tim Gray
Alderman Ward 1- Judy Lee
Alderman Ward 2- Robert Mangum
Alderman Ward 3- Kevin M. Jones Sr. and Janna Miller
Alderman Ward 4- Sandra Weeks Stein, Arthur J. Walker Sr., and Larry Purser
Voters who plan to participate in the upcoming municipal election must be registered to vote in the city at least 30 days priors to Election Day. March 8 is the deadline to register before the primary election and May 10 is the deadline to register before the general election.
