State Auditor Shad White announced that Special Agents from his office arrested former Simpson County Sheriff’s Office administrative assistant Stephanie Cuellar after she was indicted for embezzlement by a grand jury assembled by District Attorney Matt Sullivan.

Edward Earl Owens of 118 Dodd Collins Road Magee MS was arrested on March 17 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Olen Wilborn, Sr.

Olen Wilborn, Sr., age 84, of Milton, FL passed away Monday, November 20, 2017.

Born in Collins, Olen joined the U.S. Navy after graduation from high school. He served his country during the Korean War aboard the destroyer, USS Ozbourn. Olen was a master plumber by trade and the sole owner of Countywide Plumbing in Magee.

Hit and run in D'lo

Sheriff Donald O’Cain reported that a hit and run occurred on September 8. Investigator Joe Andrews explained that at approximately 7:45 p.m. Robert Pope of D’Lo was struck by a vehicle on Highway 149 in D’Lo. Andrews said the suspected vehicle is a white Chevrolet or GMC four door that was pulling a black car hauler.
