The Neshoba County Fair is a Mississippi tradition, bringing together thousands of folk at the height of summer for a week of Southern celebration—music, dancing, food, cattle shows, horse racing, and, of course, politics. Ever since Ronald Reagan kicked off his 1980 presidential campaign at the Fair, it’s been the place where public officials in our state go to share their vision.

Since 1990 there have been only two three-game win streaks in the series, one by each school. A win by the Rebels this season would be their third-straight.

I’ve never read that Jesus said, “The Egg Bowl you have with you always,” but he could have.

He applied that teaching example elsewhere, but it would work for football too.

Mississippi’s Southeastern Conference schools have impressive team and individual accomplishments in other sports, but as the least populoåus state with one SEC school much less two, comparison is inevitable.

It does not take hyper-sensory abilities to smell a rat, in the form of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as President Trump gets ready to meet him in Alaska to start talking about an end to the invasion of Ukraine.
The president’s admiration of Putin, and perhaps even his envy of the Russian dictator’s control of his country, has been well documented since Trump’s first term. Only in the last few weeks has this changed, with Trump finally realizing, and saying publicly, that Putin keeps telling him one thing but doing another.

Since I first raised the possibility of Madison’s Amazon data center causing residential electricity rates to skyrocket, I have been deluged by emails from readers with links to similar articles across the nation.
Just last week, the Tucson, Arizona city council voted unanimously to reject a massive data center project as residents cheered.
Led by development firm Beale Infrastructure, the rejected “Project Blue” would have created a 290-acre site with 10 buildings, totaling more than two million square feet. The data center would have consumed 600 megawatts of power.

A few years ago my husband bought me one of those cordless battery-operated vacuum cleaners. I didn’t want to spend the money, but he kept insisting that “we” needed it. I really think he meant “You should vacuum the house occasionally and this will make it easy.”
It was ordered and arrived, and he excitedly pried the box open. The kitchen began to fill with cardboard packaging and odd- shaped plastic parts.
The dogs backed off. So did I. My husband, who loves gadgets, waded happily through the chaos, demonstrating what the parts did.
