Bessie Louise Lockhart Berkhalter, 91, of Prentiss, MS, passed away April 9, 2024. Mother Bessie joined Mt. Carmel COGIC, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She attended Gray School in the Clem community and later went on to high school at Prentiss Institute in Prentiss, MS. She married the late Jack Berkhalter, and to this union six children were born. Along with one daughter, four sons, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren a sister, one brother, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, she leaves a host of community members and family friends to cherish her memory. jandmfuneralhome.com
