1. What is your circulation?

Our circulation is over 6,000, and reaches about 15,000 readers. This assumes the average reader rate of 2.5 based on studies by the National Newspaper Association. The Magee Courier/Simpson County News is delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and is also available in stores and news racks throughout the area.

2. How often do you publish?

Our newspaper is published on Thursdays. 

3. What is your coverage area?

We cover all of Simpson County, and we also feature news from Braxton, D'Lo, Harrisville and Pinola.  

4. How do I submit a news or sports item?

When submitting photos for publication, please attach them in jpeg format at the highest possible resolution. Please identify everyone in the photos.

We actively seek engagement announcements, weddings, awards and achievements, school news, letters to the editor or anything relevant to our community. We are a community newspaper, and we want to keep our readers informed about anything going on in Simpson County or news about Simpson natives. Our staff writer also welcome news tips.

5. How do I place an ad in your newspaper?

Just call one of our advertising representatives at 601-849-3434 of 601-847-2525 or send an email to nbrown@mageecourier.ms or mbratcher@countynews.ms. Tell us what you want and our production staff will quickly design an advertisement that fits your needs. There is no charge for ad design and composition.

6. What’s the cost to advertise?

The open rate is $10.40 per column inch. Color charges are $50 for a quarter page, $100 for a half page and $150 for a full-page ad.

7. How do I subscribe?

Just call 601-849-3434 or 601-847-2525 e-mail mbratcher@countynews.ms or visit our office at 206 Main Ave N. Magee, MS 39111 or 228 Main St. N. Mendenhall, MS 39114. Subscription rates in Simpson County are $30 per year. For subscriptions outside of Simpson County the rate is $40 per year.

8. Does your publication include classified ads?

Yes, and our rates are very low. Contact us at 601-847-2525 or e-mail mbratcher@countynews.ms to place an ad.

9. What are your business hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
