Simpson gets a new headmaster, what makes it even better he is a product of Simpson Academy.
Brien Hubbard, chairman of Simpson’s School board announced that an offer has been extended and accepted to Nick Lee to fill the position of headmaster at Simpson County Academy. He replaces long term Headmaster Billy Wayne Hankins.
Lee is 37 years old and comes to Simpson from the Simpson County Public Schools where he most recently served as Assistance Principal.
Hubbard said, “Nick is a 2001 graduate of Simpson Academy.” He added that he offered a fantastic interview and the board was very fortunate to get Nick. He said because of his background the transition should be really easy.
Nick is a graduate of William Carey University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Coaching and Sports Administration from William Carey. In addition he has an Administrative Endorsement.
He started his career in education in Mendenhall in 2008 and then on to Florence for a year. In addition he worked serveral years in Mize. He taught English III as well as all areas of History and Physical Education.
His coaching includes assistant head football coach, head baseball coach, girls softball coach and Assistant Athletic Director.
He was serving as Assistant Principal at Mendenhall Junior High, where he was disciplinarian, as well as school test coordinator.
