The USDA Service Center, which houses the Simpson County Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Simpson County Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices, 3080 Simpson Hwy. 13, Mendenhall, MS, will be CLOSED Monday, Oct. 13, for Columbus Day.

The 50th Anniversary of Magee’s Crazy Day will be held in downtown Magee on Saturday, Oct. 25. It features a fall festival atmosphere, shopping, arts and crafts, car show and Touch-a-Truck, Kids Zone, chicken show, games, music and more. Pilgrim Rest Community Development in partnership with Mississippi Food Networks will continue monthly food distributions on the third Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Family Life Center, 169 Pilgrim Rest Rd., Pinola, MS 39149.

Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. Potluck lunch is served, so bring a dish.
